The greatness and supremacy of Sharanaagati!
It is high time we have to turn our focus towards the purpose for which we are here, in this Leela Vibhuti (world).
After so many thousands of births of various kinds, a human status is obtained. This human birth is the fruit of the accumulated "Punnyam" we had done all through. (This can be compared to a highly priced article that we buy, paying huge amount of money and the amount of care we take for that article)
Human life has three stages called -
- Birth
- Stiti (growth)
- Death
Of these, birth and death are not in our hands. We show more concern over Stiti. We don't know when it would stop, as our life is compared to the occurrence of a lightning (lightning disappears in no time)

What can be done to end the endless cycles of births and deaths?
Our Great Raamanujacharya performed, as well as showed us the Anushtanam called PRAPATTI on a Panguni Uttaram day in the presence of Sri RangaNayika Sametha Sri Namperumal.
Through this generous act, Udaiyavar paved the way for the entire human race to get relieved of the "Punarapi Jananam Punarapi Maranam" cycle at the end of their births.
This PRAPATTI anushtanam is the one and only means to save the jeevan from the perils of samsara.
All living beings are eligible to perform this Anushtanam. There are instances where Prapatti was done by Azhagiyasingars, even for cows and elephants.

We need to be committed to the following three things after performing Prapatti -
- Staunch, unmoving faith that Sriman Naarayana is the Supreme Being, as it is clearly stated in Vedas and Upanishads.(ஒத்தார்மிக்காரை இலையாய மாமாயா) எம்பெருமானே பர தத்வம் என்பதில் தெளிவு- which means there is none equal to or above Him in any context.
